「Baby blue eyes」をリリースしました！
ヘンリーマンシーニの名曲の一つに「ひまわり」という曲があります。戦争で引き裂かれる二人の恋人達の悲恋を描く同名の名作映画のテーマ曲で、ご存じの方も多いのではないでしょうか。この「ひまわり」は名作映画に相まって切ないメロディーで心に残る名曲です。僭越ですが今回のSHIFTの曲は花の名前「ネモフィラ」とさせていただきました。ネモフィラの花は英語名Baby blue eyesといいます。「赤ちゃんの蒼い瞳」です。
ここ数年ご存じの通り争いが世界中でさらに多くなっているように思います。様々なところで起こる争いの話を聞くたびに、たくさんの人の物語もまた歴史の奥底に人知れず沈んで行きます。誰が最初に始めたのか？終わらせる事ができると思っているのか？といつも思います。争いがない時はないともいわれますが、それでもいつかどこかで終わりにしなければならない時、誰かがネモフィラの花言葉を心のどこかに少しでいいから思い出してほしいと願ってやみません。今回は映画音楽のようなメロディーでアカペラ風に作らせていただきました。
One of Henry Mancini’s most famous compositions is the song “Sunflower.” It’s the theme song for the acclaimed film of the same name, depicting the tragic love story of two lovers torn apart by war—a story many of you may know. This ‘Sunflower’ is a memorable masterpiece, its poignant melody resonating deeply, especially paired with the classic film. I humbly named this SHIFT track after the flower “Nemophila.” The nemophila flower is called “Baby Blue Eyes” in English.
As you know, conflicts seem to have increased worldwide in recent years. Every time I hear about conflicts erupting in various places, countless stories of people also sink unnoticed into the depths of history. I always wonder: Who started it first? Does anyone truly believe it can be ended? It’s said there’s never been a time without conflict, yet I can’t help but hope that someday, somewhere, when it must end, someone will remember the meaning of the nemophila flower, even just a little, somewhere in their heart. This time, I composed it with a melody reminiscent of film music, in an a cappella style.
